Family and Group Therapy

Family plays an important role in an individual’s health and well-being. Family therapy provides a safe environment for family members to strengthen their relationships, communicate better, and have positive emotional experiences.

Wazo Therapy Clinic also provides support through group therapy. In group therapy, you can tap into authentic connections with others. Group sessions provide shared experiences so you do not feel alone. One can also get the opportunity to give and receive feedback and become more self-aware.

Specialised Treatments

Clinicians at Wazo Therapy are highly specialized in working with neurodivergent individuals, all forms of emotional trauma, and common mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression.

Our approach to helping people navigate social, behavioral, and emotional difficulties and psychological distress is two evidence-based treatments: Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

Psychological Evaluations

A comprehensive psychological evaluation assesses a person’s functioning in learning, emotional, social, behavioral, and cognitive processing. Wazo Therapy Clinic currently assesses people between 2 and 80 years old. Such an evaluation takes 3 to 6 hours and occurs over multiple sessions.

We evaluate and diagnose disorders such as Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Intellectual Disability (IDD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Special Learning Disorders, Mood and Anxiety Disorders. Depending on the reason for evaluation, we also conduct neuropsychological evaluations for schools.

Clinical Supervision

Dr. Bernice Nderitu is passionate about mentoring other clinicians. She draws on over 15 years of experience to provide feedback in a non-judgmental way, teach clinical skills, guide through complexities and ethical dilemmas, and offer new perspectives on a treatment plan.

She offers supervision across different treatment approaches. Specifically, she also offers supervision in EMDR Therapy as an EMDR Africa-certified consultant.

Training

Training targets healthcare providers, educators, community leaders, and organizations, equipping them with the tools to support individuals and communities in crisis.
